Reporting to the BWOPA Richmond/Contra Costa Chapter, the campaign assistant/canvasser will implement on-the-ground outreach efforts in support of active BWOPA Richmond/Contra Costa Chapter
campaigns. He/she will work independently to collect signatures for specific BWOPA Richmond/Contra Costa Chapter
campaign petitions and to increase public awareness of these campaigns.
The campaign assistant will directly contribute to increasing BWOPA Richmond/Contra Costa Chapter
capacity to help elect the endorsed candidates of the BWOPA PAC. Duties and Responsibilities The campaign assistant will: Identify locations and events to conduct canvassing for a specific BWOPA Richmond/Contra Costa Chapter
campaign Distribute promotional campaign material to the public Collect signatures for BWOPA Richmond/Contra Costa Chapter
campaigns using materials provided by BWOPA Richmond/Contra Costa Chapter
in the campaign canvassing package Submit collected information along with original documents to BWOPA Richmond/Contra Costa Chapter
on a regular basis Submit questions from the public about the campaign to CPAWS for response Track canvassing history, including locations, events, materials distributed, and signatures collected Qualifications Excellent interpersonal skills Comfortable speaking to others about conservation issues and requesting support
Ability to work independently Outgoing, enthusiastic and enjoys meeting new people Bilingualism an asset Time Period Ongoing commitment. Flexible schedule that is dependent upon the campaign assistant’s availability, which can include work during regular business hours, evenings or weekends. The campaign assistant must commit to a minimum of 10 hours per month.
